So as I go to my second Yoga class tomorrow, I was wondering what other folks felt about Yoga and its ability to help with your running?
Any comments are appreciated :)

Yoga is a good, good thing. Something runners should do more of - just like drinking more water and eating less junk. For me, that is easier said than done.
Since I can't fit in a class - I swear by the book, "A Morning Cup of Yoga". It fits the bill for me.
Jason, if you are a flexilbe runner/swimmer and are under 30, you should do just fine with starting yoga. However, if you are a relatively stiff person over 30 and don't stretch much I would recommend you exercise caution. I have treated many a runner who started yoga and actually caused an injury. It is my opinion that people with this body type stick to more tradition/ gradual static stretching after running on easy days.
Yeah, I fall in the second category :)....hmmm...
I am a runner and I find yoga essential to decreasing stiffness. Start out slow, and don't think of yoga as an extreme work out, but more as a meditative experience with extreme health benefits.
But....another question. I love this picture. Did you take it? I am making this brochure for town activities and wonder who I can ask for permission to use it. The brochure won't be generating any money, but I wanted to take due process in using the photo. Thanks!!
Hi Jason,
Yoga is great for runners! I like your blog and am glad I found out. Check mine out at www.loveyogaandrunning.blogspot.com... As a yoga teacher and avid runner, I can certainly attest to the benefits of yoga to combat tight hamstrings and lower back pain. At least once at week it's a necessity!
