Ok, so if I can't do the marathon, there is an 8k that the marathon organizers are running the same day....so, I can still participate in that even if I can't do the marathon...WoooHooo!!!!!!

The 8K is a good race. I did that last year. You'll still get that feeling of being at "America's friendliest marathon."
